Some Greek populations of T. h. boettgeri may have near an entirely black plastron and many T. h. hercegovinensis may have bands that closely depict that in the western. Much more than usually, the black on possibly of these subspecies stays damaged, faded, unclear or "spotty". Even if good bands are present, they will not have this kind of nicely
